MSUNet Setup
Guide for Windows 2000
| Requirements |
Before you get started in setting up your MSUNet connection, also
called your Ethernet connection, please be sure to have the following
items:
- A
10-baseT Ethernet card, this is available from the bookstore
or most computer or office supply stores. MSU HelpDesk recommends
that you purchase a 3com network card, but other brand cards
should work.
- A
10-baseT Ethernet cable, any length will work fine but will
effect the placement of the computer. In the dorms a 25 foot
cable will be the easiest to work with.
Once you have all of the above you may begin.

Note: Due to policy, the Internet Consultant is not allowed to touch
anything on the inside of your case but may advise you on how to
install the card. Installing the card and/or following the advice
of the Internet Consultant is AT YOUR OWN RISK.
