THE NACIREMA SOCIETY REQUESTS THE HONOR OF YOUR PRESENCE AT A CELEBRATION OF THEIR FIRST ONE HUNDRED YEARS

It is 1964 and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is planning a massive voter registration drive that promises to put the city back at the center of the Civil Rights Movement. Meanwhile, Grace Dunbar, pillar of Montgomery's African-American aristocrats and doyenne of the Nacirema Society, an organization poised to celebrate its 100th anniversary by presenting an exclusive group of debutantes at their annual cotillion, is busy preparing for the centennial. Assisting Grace is her lifelong friend, Catherine, who hopes the cotillion will prompt her grandson to propose to Grace's granddaughter. Of course, neither woman considers the fact that their grandchildren have their own plans. Adding to the anticipation is the arrival of Alpha Campbell, daughter of the Dunbar family's late maid. Alpha brings secrets and scandal that surprise even her. The New York Times visiting reporter, Janet Logan, finds herself watching to report if the secrets tumble or strengthen these pillars of elite society.

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING production video

http://youtu.be/wovI1MEfVXI

S/He loves me; S/He loves me not! is the sought after answer in the humorous meditations on honor, shame and court politics.  Much Ado About Nothing is considered the best of Shakespeare’s comedies. To be presented in late 1920s when swing was in, giving a jazzy edge to this romantic comedy.

Directed by Shirley Basfield Dunlap with guest choreographers award-winning Master Swing Dancers Lewis Neal and Leslie Mallory, this production of Much Ado About Nothing will be something else!

Allow Flowcabulary to break-down the story of MUCH ADO...then Theatre Morgan will Swing it for you!
