VOCAL STUDIES ALUMNI
Graduates of our program have gone on to become conductors, singers and teachers and have performed on the great opera and concert stages of the world including the Metropolitan Opera. The Vocal Studies Concentration offers a variety of performance opportunities for singers who aspire to have careers in the field of music. Master Classes with world-class vocal artists are just one of the many opportunities we provide students beyond the classroom at Morgan. Some of our past clinicians have included Leontyne Price, Denyce Graves, Donna Roll, Marquita Lister, Louise Toppin, Kevin Short, Robert Honeysucker, William Warfield, Willis Patterson, William Ray, Ben Holt, and Mark Markham.
Applied Voice provides excellent instruction in vocal technique and production. Foreign language diction, song interpretation and musicality are also part of this study. Studio and master classes are a part of this curriculum.
LYRIC DICTIONLyric Diction is offered in Italian, German, French and English.
MORGAN STATE UNIVERSITY OPERA WORKSHOPOpera Workshop is open to all students and provides students with on-stage experience in opera scenes, Opera Gala Concerts, fully-staged productions with piano and regional youth and professional orchestras.
MORGAN STATE UNIVERSITY CHOIR
Morgan State University Choir is an internationally renowned and commercially recorded choral ensemble. The choir tours annually.
