CHERYL J. WILLIAMS, Administrative Staff Technician and Resident Lighting and Sound Designer, comes to Morgan State University from Olney Theatre Center for the Arts where served as Production Manager.  There she also continued her work as a professional stage manager.  Prior to Olney Ms. Williams’ stage management credits included La Traviata; Le Nozzle Di Figaro; The Wiz (New Jersey Performing Arts Center); The Music Man; The King and I; Blues for an Alabama Sky; Our Town; Fortinbras; The School for Scandal; “Living with AIDS” (National Theatre of Ghana, Ghana, West Africa) and “Samuel French Off-Broadway Playwright Festival” (Playwrights Horizon, New York); among many more.  She has taught at the University of Ghana, Theatre Department and creative drama in the New Jersey School System as well as the Maryland Friends School.  Ms. Williams’ other talents within the theatre world include props mistress; researcher and designer.  She holds a B.A. in Theatre from Iowa State University; has attended the University of Iowa; and, earned a MFA from Rutgers University—Mason Gross School of the Arts.  Cheryl Williams is a member of the Actors Equity Association, the professional union of actors and stage managers and founder of “Let There Be Light” a lighting company based in Maryland.
