Website Liaisons and Authors
Website Liaisons are selected from each school or division to serve as the main point of contact for all website matters pertaining to their organization. Website Authors are the actual content creators, responsible for gathering and updating website content, and using the CMS to enter the content. Once the Web Author has gathered and entered the content into the CMS, the Web Liaison will moderate and authorize the content changes, and use the CMS to publish the changes to the website.
The Liaisons and Authors do not need any special technical expertise; they will be trained in the use of the CMS and be expected to train others in the organization as needed. They should, however, be comfortable with general computer use.
Unfortunately, the Web Team does not have the staff nor the resources to migrate all 2000+ pages of the Morgan website to the new system. Therefore, after training, Liaisons will be responsible for migrating their web pages onto the new CMS. Pages that are not migrated will no longer appear on the Morgan website.
The new official, university-wide Website Policy, Guidelines and Procedures includes the following provisions:
- Website Liaisons will be responsible for approving and publishing all changes to their own web pages
- The Office of Public Relations and Communications has final oversite of the website and may alter or remove web pages based on University objectives
