Christopher Metzger and Blaise DePaulo of Fine Arts called upon the Digital Media Center (DMC) to assist them when the keynote speaker for the Morgan Touch Exhibit had a conflicting commitment. "...We are having an exhibit and symposium that opens October 2nd... Joan Gaither, a documentary story quilter, was originally our keynote speaker, but the museum moved the opening date and unfortunately she can no longer fulfill her commitment.", and so the project began. On October 2nd, the Morgan Touch Exhibit featured Dr. Joan Gaither as keynote speaker via a video presentation.

Bolden Jr. spent two and a half hours on the campus of Morgan State University on January 25, 2012, touring facilities in the University's science and engineering schools and talking with students and faculty about their research. Bolden - a former U.S. Marine Corps aviator and NASA astronaut, and a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy - is the first black person to head the space agency. NASA is a major funder of research at Morgan, providing millions of dollars in grants each year. |

Morgan hosted a Hip Hop Summit featuring professionals in the industry from DJs, radio personalities, performers, producers, writers, etc. The Summit panel offered advice on best practices for the budding Hip Hop artist. |
