Department: School of Architecture and Planning
Duties: The School of Architecture & Planning (SA+P) is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position, at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, for the Department of Architecture.
A qualified person is needed to give architectural instruction in the graduate design studio sequence; and in a specialized area reflecting the candidate's research. Examples include, representation and fabrication; structural systems; building materials and methods of construction, urban design theory and practice; evidence-based design; design for health care; integrated project delivery.
The Department of Architecture offers the Master of Architecture degree, and enjoys a collaborative relationship with Landscape Architecture and City Regional Planning, and with a pre-professional undergraduate program. The School of Architecture and Planning is in a brand new sustainable interdisciplinary building, The Center for the Built Environment and Infrastructure Studies (CBEIS). New programs include Construction Management and Historic Preservation.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in Architecture and five years of professional experience. A Ph.D. in a related subject area such as City and Regional Planning or Landscape Architecture is an acceptable substitute for registration as an architect. Registration as a licensed architect is preferred; however individuals actively pursuing registration will be considered.
