Department:          Athletics

Duties:   Responsible for assisting the head coach in conducting an intercollegiate football program; assists in monitoring the academic progress and pursuits of student-athletes; conducts practice; assists in providing strategy during competition; assists in pre-season and off-season conditioning programs; assists in development of the mechanics and skills of the quarterbacks; assists with the development of the offensive kicking game; conducts offensive meetings with student-athletes and staff personnel; assists in providing guidance and strategy to staff and student-athletes during competition; develops and implements, in consultation with the head coach, an offensive game plan; communicates the offensive scheme as viewed from the coaches area of the press box; recommends to the head coach offensive plays for use during the game; interprets and communicates to the appropriate staff personnel, the opponents' defensive coverage; assists in conducting home and away contests; accompanies student-athletes and related personnel to away contests; assists in preparing the team and facility for home contests; assists in conducting camps and clinics; assists in organizing a high school coaches clinic; helps to develop the football camp; performs administrative tasks; develops and maintains an offensive and Spring Practice playbook; maintains an offensive depth chart; develops for distribution, a weekly scouting report; assists in dissecting and interpreting the game film; and performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:   Bachelor's degree, experience coaching on a NCAA Division I level football program.

Requirements:   Knowledge of NCAA Division I football; knowledge of departmental, university, MEAC and NCAA rules and regulations; ability to work with students and possess strong interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
