Department: School of Community Health & Policy
Duties: Coordinates and implements the Academic Service Learning Programs; assists agencies, community partners, faculty, and students to develop mutually beneficial learning partnerships and academic capacity building grants with the School; coordinates events to connect service learners with appropriate service opportunities, collects feedback from partners; serves as the liaison by establishing contact with directors and appropriate staff within the community; designs and coordinates meetings and workshops to assists community and agency partners to become more effective at facilitating service learning experiences for students; develops a regular community communication vehicle such as a newsletter; develops and maintains a database of practice and outreach experiences; assists in identifying useful community resources including guest speakers, location sites, and experimental opportunities; and performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Masters of Public Health (MPH) or Master's Degree in arelated field; 3 years' experience working in areas such as public relations, program coordination and evaluation, grant writing or fund development; and 5 years' experience working with community based organizations.
Preference: Graduate school teaching experience
Requirements: Skill in coordinating work with other departments of the university; ability to develop collaborative partnerships between and among diverse groups of people in poverty and working poor environments; ability to develop, facilitate, and lead workshops, meetings, and training experiences; ability to communicate effectively; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to operate a computer; ability to provide advice and guidance; ability to supervise.
