Department: Office of Human Resources
Duties: Serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Human Resources. Provides both complex and simple administrative, secretarial and clerical support to the director and the Human Resources department. Screens phone calls and provides back-up for the main Human Resources line; logs correspondence and contracts; maintains department calendars; responds to routine inquiries verbally and in writing; organizes and maintains files; makes travel arrangements; gathers and consolidates data for reports; ensures confidentiality of information; and performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Two years of office experience, which includes the production of documents using automated equipment and software. Demonstrated ability to type at least 45 wpm by completing the University's Clerical Skills Test.
Requirements: Knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment; knowledge of business English; excellent communication and customer service skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; skill in operating manual and automated office equipment; skill in maintaining clerical records; ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times; ability to understand and follow instructions; ability to interact with the public, employees, and students in a courteous and efficient manner at all times; ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with only general instructions; ability to create and work in spreadsheets.
