Department: Nursing Program
Duties: Oversees all aspects of the general office coordination; maintains the office calendar; monitors and requests updates to organizations website; interacts with clients, vendors, and visitors; composes responses to routine inquires in accordance with general instructions; reviews and edits outgoing correspondence for format, typographical and grammatical accuracy; exercises initiative in establishing and revising files to meet current needs and demands for materials; enters updates and retrieves information stored in files and databases; customizes special reports; orders supplies and requests equipment repairs as needed; screens and distributes incoming mail; answers and screens telephone calls; answers inquiries following general instructions and departmental procedures; schedules and coordinates meetings and appointments; makes travel arrangements and keeps records of travel itineraries; prepares and submits travel vouchers and expense reports; ensures confidentiality of information; Relays messages and instructions between supervisor and others, exercises independent judgment and initiative where guidelines and procedures have been established; performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. One year of office experience, which includes the production of documents using automated equipment and software. Demonstrated ability to type at least 45 wpm by completing the University's Clerical Skills Test.
Requirements: Knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment; knowledge of business English; excellent communication and customer service skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; skill in operating manual and automated office equipment; skill in maintaining clerical records; ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times; ability to understand and follow instructions; ability to interact with the public, employees, and students in a courteous and efficient manner at all times; ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with only general instructions; ability to create and work in spreadsheets.
