Department: Financial Aid
Duties: Serves as the Supervisor for the Office of Financial Aid; allows the utilization for independent and un-reviewed judgment in making important decisions; composes and signs important correspondence; interprets administrative decisions and policies to other members of the staff and transmits orders and instructions with the authority as Supervisor; maintains frequent contact with public and private executives, professional persons, and other officials; prepares correspondence with entails a wide knowledge of the departments program, procedure, functions, and policies; advises develops, and installs new working procedures and forms; revises existing procedures and instructs employees in these procedures and performs other duties, as required.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; Three years progressively responsible clerical work; 2 years of prior office management or clerical supervisory experience.
Requirements: Preference will be given to candidates with prior higher education and/or financial aid experience.
Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment; knowledge of business English, grammar, spelling and punctuation; knowledge of the principles of office management and supervision; skill in planning and coordinating clerical work; skill in interpreting and applying departmental policies and procedures; in operating manual and automated office equipment including personal computers and related software; skill in composing correspondence and preparing reports; skill in performing mathematical computations; ability to supervise, motivate and train assigned clerical staff; ability to negotiate resolution to scheduling and procedural problems; ability to communicate effectively; ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships.
