Department: Financial Aid
Duties: Provides financial aid services to undergraduate students by reviewing applications and determining eligibility for financial package awards; maintains and updates files; reviews financial applications; counsels on all matters concerning availability of financial aid, determining eligibility, procedural steps, alternative budgets, resources, and problem resolution; performs need analyses, preparing appropriate correspondence and reports; provides helpful, accurate information to students and parents; conducts workshops; participates in professional development activities to keep abreast of financial aid regulations and other duties; serves as both a member of the Financial Aid Policy Committee and the Financial Aid Appeals Committee; may represent the Office of Financial Aid at secondary schools and at other institutions of higher education and orientation.
Minimum Qualifications: BA degree in Business Management, Accounting or other related field. Two years of relevant work experience performing student orientated duties relating to financial aid, admissions counseling, or relevant student affairs activities
Preferred: Experience in a collegiate environment performing the above student related duties involving Financial Aid. Experience with Ed Express, COD, NSLDS, and Banner processing software.
Requirements: Knowledge of Microsoft office computer software; knowledge of Ed Express, COD, NSLDS, and Banner processing software skill in word processing software; ability to coordinate work with personnel of other departments; ability to provide advice and guidance; ability to communicate effectively.
