Department: Residence Life & Housing  

Duties:  Responsible for the operation of University managed housing; performs a variety of duties in the area of administration, central office, community development, facility management; and student and staff development; supervises and regulates the residential facility; promotes and establishes a living-learning environment that is conducive to student academic success and personal growth; assists with the selection and training of staff and night managers; assists with planning and policy formation; assists in surveys and special projects; maintains progressive discipline procedures and documentation; develops agenda and conducts weekly staff meetings; maintains files and reports as directed; post and disseminates appropriate information in an effective and timely manner; ensures all policies are consistently enforced and documented appropriately; assists in the establishment of an atmosphere that encourages students to develop respect for each other's rights and freedoms; maintains an appropriate academic environment in the residence hall; coordinates the opening and closing of the residence halls; ensures to the best of ability a safe and secure environment; attends and actively participates in all staff development and training activities to include weekly meetings and in- services; assists residents with academic, psychological and personal problems making the appropriate referral when necessary;  maintains an awareness of student concerns through formal and informal communication and necessary documentation; performs other duties, as required.                                                                     

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required; Three (3) years of residence life; one year of which in a supervisory role engaged in education, training and experience dealing with first year students. 

Requirements:  Knowledge of computer software applications; skill in organizational and interpersonal communication; ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays; and to attend campus programs evenings and weekends; ability to provide objectivity, patience, commitment to diversity, be a team player, creativity and also be committed to student development.
