Department: Center for Excellence in Mathematics Science Education
Duties: Provides professional development for mathematics and science teachers; develops STEM related activities and academic enrichment of K-16 students; develops and writes grant proposals to assist with the professional development of mathematics and science teachers; evaluates and assesses program effectiveness; develops partnerships and collaborations with various K-12 schools and school systems; organizes and facilitates conferences and special events through the CEMSE; establishes mentoring programs for undergraduate students K-12 partnership schools and junior faculty at the University; and performs other duties, as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Masters Degree in Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
Preference: Doctorate Degree
Requirements: Knowledge of grant management and implementation; knowledge and experience in student learning outcomes, assessment and general education; knowledge of education theory and practice; knowledge of best practice in high education policy and process; knowledge of practical experience in an administrative capacity in a higher education setting; ability to communicate effectively; ability to interact with diverse communities; ability to manage and facilitate workshops; ability to utilize technology to communicate, share information and to disseminate results; skill in Microsoft Office; ability to manage administrative details and operations of the office and direct work of administrative support staff.
