The Office of Enrollment Outreach and Veteran Services has initiated an active outreach to school districts surrounding Baltimore. The importance of creating mutually trusting relationships with school districts cannot be over stated. Through these relationships, prospective students are channeled through the admissions process. As such, it is critical that school partnerships with various surrounding counties are focused on providing the most up to date information of what Morgan has to offer. It is the desire of EOVS to meet with the Superintendents of each surrounding school district, and to foster a relationship that will lead to an increased number of students who will develop a mutually beneficial relationship with Morgan that will result in an overall increase in University admissions.
Focusing on the admission standards for entering freshmen, retention rates, and specialty programs such as the Connect Program and the Honors Program, EOVS had originally reached out and met with Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Anne Arundel County, Howard County, and Prince Georges County superintendents. In the 2012-2013 school year we added Carroll County, Harford and Frederick Counties. In 2013-2014 school year we reached out to Montgomery County and our anticipation is to further expand into Cecil County, St. Mary's County and the District of Columbia in the 2014-2015 school year.
In conjunction to meeting with areas superintendents, EOVS is in the process of creating partnerships with area middle schools. The relationship a prospective student builds with colleges and universities early on is crucial in determining what choice is ranked above all others during his or her junior and senior year of high school.
