Scholarship Workshop Program

For the past three years, Morgan State University and the Baltimore City Public Schools co-host a Scholarship Workshop Program for the top ten percent of Baltimore City Public School’s graduating high school class. Students are identified by partnering Baltimore City School Officials and transported to the event.  The event is made possible through the generous support of Morgan State University and Traveler’s EDGE: Empowering Dreams for Graduation and Employment.

The workshop includes a general session with information necessary to consider Morgan State University as a post-secondary option and an overview of national and regional scholarship opportunities with an estimated combined portfolio value of over five million dollars to include:

• The Gates Millennium Scholarship
• The Baltimore Community Foundation
• The Central Scholarship Bureau
• The College Bound Foundation
• Morgan State University

Students will also receive hands-on tutorials on writing a winning personal essay for their scholarship application.
