Budget & Financial Analysis

The Budget and Financial Analysis Department, located in Truth Hall - Room 111, is responsible for coordination of the preparation of the University budget and reviewing the budgets of grant proposals.

The Budget Office endeavors to provide important budgetary information to faculty and staff that will facilitate the timely and effective preparation of divisional and departmental budget requests submitted to the Budget Department. Once submitted, these budget requests are reviewed, adjusted, consolidated and submitted to the State Department of Budget and Management for review, which in turn makes a budget recommendation to the Governor. The Governor submits a recommended budget, or "Allowance," for Morgan State University as part of an overall State budget to the Maryland General Assembly for consideration and approval. Once approved by the Maryland General Assembly, funding is allocated to the appropriate divisions and departments.
