Information
The Morgan State University Office of Financial Aid wishes to extend to you a very warm welcome and pledges to assist you in any way we can in your pursuit of academic endeavors.
As part of this initiative we have streamlined our processes in order to decrease the time necessary to process your PLUS and Alternative loans. This new process entitled “Lender Flow” will allow for increased interaction between you and your lender of record. It will also decrease the time needed to certify and originate both PLUS and Alternative loans. To you the student and parent, this will result in faster turnaround times and allow for more secure transactions.
The steps needed to complete this new procedure are as follows:
- Choose a lender.
- Your preferred lender will perform the credit decision either over the phone or on-line.
- If you are credit approved, proceed to step four. If you are credit denied you have the option of re-applying with a co-borrower.
- Complete and sign the application either on-line (faster) or have the application mailed to you.
- If you choose to have the application mailed to you, it must be returned to your chosen lender.
- Once the lender receives the application, Morgan State will be notified electronically of the need to certify your loan application.
- Your funds will be transmitted electronically and credited directly to the student's account here at Morgan State.
