Pre-College Studies Program

The Pre- College Studies Program is designed to ease the transition from high school to college for students whose academic profiles and performances on the University's placement examination confirm the need for early intervention to improve their potential for success in college. The program is designed to strengthen students' background in English, Reading, and Mathematics, to increase their motivation, to improve their study habits, and to orient them to the expectations and requirements of the university. The program is offered for an eight-week period during the summer, and with special permission, some students may enroll in the academic vea-program.

The Pre-College Studies Program is offered during the summer prior to the fall semester other students' enrollment. Some students, whose extenuating circumstances may preclude enrollment in the summer term, may be granted special permission to complete the program during the academic year. However, enrollment in the academic year program is limited.

The Freshmen Studies Program is offered during the regular academic year and covers the two semesters of the freshman year.
