Academic advising is a strategy for improved student persistence and retention and the Center for Centralized Academic Advising (CCAA) is a critical link in the retention of students at the university.
The CCAA is part of The Academic Development Center. The student populations advised by the CCAA are Undeclared/ Undecided majors and Pre-College/ Freshman Studies students.
Mission Statement
To improve student persistence and retention by systematically monitoring his/her progress tow meeting and mastering the University courses, especially the general education requirements of the University.
Student Populations served by CPUM
Students who have declared a major receive academic advisement from faculty advisors in the department of their major.
Undeclared majors are those students who enter the University with no clear career goals or are Pre-College/ Freshman Studies students and cannot declare a major.
Academic Probation
Students who do not meet the academic requirements of the University will be placed on academic probation. If you are on academic probation, you must repeat all courses in which deficiencies have been received before new courses can be pursued.
