Also, Dr. Booker has rounded out his administration with the recent hiring of Ms. Sherry Collette as the Curriculum and Instruction Officer. Among her many duties, Ms. Collette will serve as my Co-Director of BUSI, helping to insure advancement of systemic reform throughout the school system. She is a former Baltimore City teacher, and has held several different teaching and administrative positions in the Frederick County school system. Most recently she served as Acting Associate Superintendent for Curriculum, Administration, and School, Improvement in that County.
The New Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners, Dr. Booker and his full administrative staff are committed to moving forward with reform. So are the staff of BUSI and the Office of Science, Mathematics and Health Education, teachers and administrators throughout the City, as reflected in the articles in this edition of BUSI News. We welcome their efforts and look forward to a productive fifth year of BUSI and continued improvement in student achievement.
