What is the SBM Student Services Office?

The SBM Student Services is an office located within our school (McMechen - room 101) unofficially designated as an extension of the Registrar's office, and our Dean's office. Most of the forms and paper work processed by the Registrar's office can be found in our Student Services Office. Originally, the Student Services Office was created by the Dean's Office mainly for student convenience. The idea was to established an internal office that would create a better relationship between the SBM administrators and our students. Plus, it would be assigned the task of providing aid to our School of Business and Management Students in their quest for greater academic support (this support is in addition to those services that can only be provided by the Office of Records and Registration). The Student Services Office is not an extension of the Financial Aid or Bursar's Office.

Unfortunately, it takes a great deal of time for our SBM students to get the proper forms, letters, and signatures needed to change their individual student records at our University, or at any other large institution. Hopefully, in the services that we provide, Student Services can save these students a great deal of valuable time in getting quick answers to academic related questions and in getting their paperwork completed in a timely manner.

Students will find within this Student Services Office some of the functions that normally would be found only in the Office of Records & Registration at the Montebello Complex. By locating this office of student support within our school, SBM students will not have to make needless trips to the Registrar's office for simple paper transactions (again, convenience is what we are trying to provide to our students).

Once an SBM student applies for graduation, the application will be processed and a student audit will be generated from this office. Also, upon meeting all of the academic requirements for graduation, a recommendation for Final Academic Clearance is processed through this same Student Services office.
