Margaret Roberts-Davis, PhD
Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs
Margaret Roberts Davis has a B.A. in English with a minor in French from UMES, a M.A. in English from Salisbury University, a PhD in English, Language and Literature from UMCP and a J.D. from the University of MD, School of Law. She practiced law in Maryland for several years. In her legal career, she worked as Assistant City Solicitor and Assistant to the City Solicitor for Baltimore City, and as the former Governor of Maryland’s Deputy Legal Counsel and Assistant Director of the Office of Regulatory Affairs. Dr. Davis has taught school from the junior high school level to the university level – and at a law school. She has had years of experience as an Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at UMES. In her current role as Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, she assists the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs in the execution of her responsibilities. Dr. Davis handles student grievances and residency issues, faculty affairs and directs the Office of Faculty Professional Development among other duties.
