Dr. Mildred Huff Ofosu is the Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, Sponsored Programs and Research. This Unit is located in the Montebello Complex, Suite D302. Some staff members under her leadership are: Director of Title III, Director of Sponsored Programs, Budget Officer, Grants Specialist, Grants Associate, and Contract Specialist. Dr. Ofosu has 16 years of administrative experience in sponsored programs and research and currently oversees $30 million in competitive grants and contracts awards at Morgan State University. She received the Ph.D. degree in Immunogenetics from Howard University, College of Medicine, Washington, DC. She conducted postdoctoral studies at the National Institutes of Health/ NIAID. Dr. Ofosu served as an Extramural Associate at NIH and more recently, she served as President of the National Sponsored Programs Administrators Alliance for HBCUs.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
  • Fourteen years of administrative experience in sponsored programs and research and currently manages $25 Million+ competitive grant and contract award funds at Morgan State University.
  • Twenty-three years of teaching experience ranging from high school to university level in Science, Biology, Microbiology and Immunology.
  • Organized and served as presenter for local, national, international seminars, workshops, and conferences for the past ten years.
  • Served as reviewer for NSF, NIH, USEd, EPA
  • Federal Relations Coordinator.
  • Former institutional administrator for several consortia and partnerships between Delaware State University and other institutions of higher education/non-profit organizations and industries.
  • Former President of National Sponsored Programs Administrators Alliance (NSPAA) of HBCUs
  • Immediate Past Chair of External Relations Committee for Society of Research Administrators (SRA)

International Programs: Visited several townships and worked with youth and University students at Peninsula Technikon, Cape Town. Has vast experience in setting up precollege programs and educational activities. Provided advice to a students securing her doctorate degree at a university near to Peninsula Technikon.

Each year supplies are delivered to two or more secondary and primary schools in Accra, Ghana, and Gbetsile, Tema, Ghana. This is done via the LINKS organization.
