DEAN'S MESSAGE

As we move toward the 21st century, our attention is increasingly focused on the role of technology in our society.
The Internet is fast transforming the world of business and the way we communicate with each other. E-commerce is emerging as a viable means of doing business. How do we keep abreast of the ever-accelerating pace of technological change?
In this issue of Enterprise, we take a look at technology as it impacts our programs, and students.
The Earl G. Graves School of Business and Management is enhancing its capacity to deliver technology to our students, faculty and staff. We are changing the way we do business by providing the means for faculty to use the Internet as well as multimedia tools in the design and delivery of courses.
Our curriculum design exposes each student to a high level of technology. Each student is prepared to function in a rapidly changing global business environment where information technology and its application form the context. In daily interactions between students and faculty, the computer is an invaluable tool. E-mail facilitates almost instant contact.
The information technology infrastructure in the McMechen building, home of the Earl G. Graves School of Business and Management, is essential in coordinating the relationship between students, faculty, and the business community. All classrooms are fitted with digital control panels for audio, video and computer projection.
Keeping abreast of the latest information technology is a continuous process. In the final analysis, providing the technological infrastructure can only aid in our ultimate objective of fostering within our students a desire to become life-long learners.
We believe superior faculty, exceptional students and the supporting information technology infrastructure will insure that our students are able to compete at the highest levels in the 21st century.
