C.A.P. Partners host the Graves School's First Career and Professional Development Conference Week |

Students
fro m Western and Lake Clifton High Schools joined Graves School business
students to learn about the finer points of "Getting and Keeping the
Job You Want" as part of the business school's first professional
development conference. Students not only attended workshops in subjects
like Business Etiquette, Effective Communication, Mentoring and
Networking, and Having an Impact on Your Organization; but they also
helped to coordinate and play host to the many company representatives who
participated in this week long conference. "I really enjoyed the
sessions and felt that they offered some of the best insights about
business professionalism," says Kimberly Prioleau `99 accounting
major. "The various company information sessions allowed one to
enhance his/her awareness of different career opportunities."
Hyatt Hotel, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, and
MBNA were all major sponsors of the conference, hosting an entire day in
order to share information about various job opportunities, and to conduct
professional development workshops pertinent to being successful in C.A.P. partner representatives participated
throughout the entire week. On the last two days, C.A.P. members were
joined by representatives of the Urban Leag Graves School students, faculty, and staff thank Hyatt Hotels, Pfizer, MBNA, UPS, GTE, AT&T, Consolidated Edison, Aerotek, McCormick, State Farm, Quaker Oats, NationsBank, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Hormel Foods, and others who participated in and supported this very important initiative. |

GRAVES SCHOOL WELCOMES BLACK EXECUTIVE EXCHANGE PROGRAM Members of the Urban League's Black Executive Exchange Program participated in the Graves School's Career and Professional Development Conference, held on March 8 through March 12. The theme for the entire week was
"Getting and Keeping the Job You Want." Sponsored by the
school's Corporate Alliance Progra The Urban League's Black Executive Exchange Program was developed out of the need to expose black college students to positive role models in business, industry and government and to invigorate the curricula at black colleges and universities by relating them more closely to the world of work. The students, faculty, and staff at the Graves School greatly appreciate and thank the members and staff of the Urban League's Black Executive Exchange Program. |
