Student Enrichment Program

C.L.A.S.S Mentoring Program

The Goal of the C.L.A.S.S. (College of Liberal Arts Serving Students) is to create a partnership in which the students and mentor share a commitment to a common goal- student success!

Coordinating academic guidance and encouraging student involvement in campus life provide students with the bond-the link-the connection-to Morgan State University, in order to enhance the student’s experience.

This program pairs new students with an instructor, staff member or successful upper class student for the first year of college. The focus is to provide support for new students, to positively impact student success, and to enhance student learning. Benefits to this program include: assistance with the transition to college, identification of a positive role model, assistance with career and educational goals, consistent and reliable sources of support and inspiration, a structured opportunity to discuss and reflect on the collegiate experience (i.e., time management, study habits, class attendance, campus involvement, responsible decision-making, accessing support services, getting to know your faculty, student accountability.

Ultimately, student retention is a by-product of the overall goal to improve student academic performance, campus involvement, and persistence to graduation.

For more information or to sign-up for this program, please contact Mr. Samuel Taylor, Counselor for Student Enrichment Program at samuel.taylor@morgan.edu or at 443.885.1990.
