Visual Arts Faculty
Blaise DePaolo earned her MFA in Ceramic Sculpture at the Rochester Institute of Technology, School of American Craft in 1997. She did her undergraduate work at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. DePaolo’s travels in Mexico and Central America have been a defining influence on her work. She has exhibited nationally, is a member artist of Baltimore Clayworks and has created numerous public art projects.
Joseph Ford, the Graphic design instructor in Morgan’s Visual Arts Department. A graduate of Cranbrook Academy of Art with a Master of Fine Arts degree and the Maryland Institute College of Art, Ford has worked in every aspect of graphic design. His design work has received numerous awards and honors.
Sam Christian Holmes was born on the east end of Long Island, New York, and currently resides in Baltimore. He received both bachelor of fine arts (BFA) and master of fine arts (M.F.A.) degrees from MICA. In working with metal, Holmes attempts to access his cultural and personal history on several levels.
Guy Jones is anative Baltimorean who graduated from Morgan State University with a B.A. in Fine Arts. He received his MFA from the Hoffberger School of Painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Shortly after receiving his MFA he attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and recently he has attended the Schuler Atilier.
Concerning the themes of his work, Guy Jones asks, “How do you describe a smell? How do you describe a taste? How can you describe these experiences with words? Paintings cannot be described with words. You have to experience them.”
Patrick F. McGuire was born and grew up in South St. Paul, Minnesota. He received his B.F.A. degree at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 1963 and his M.F.A. degree at the Rinehart School of Sculpture, Maryland Institute College of Art and Design in 1965. He has maintained a studio since that time and has taught art at various colleges and universities. He is presently a full professor at Morgan State University.

Ken Royster is currently an Associate Professor of Art at Morgan State University and is a member of the Civic Design Commission in Baltimore, City. He has exhibited nationally and in 1993 went to Namibia, Africa on a Fulbrigh-Hays study abroad grant sponsored by the state department.
