Instrumental Faculty
C.R. Kasprzyk, saxophone, woodwind methods, is an active performer and teacher in the DC metro area. Mr. Kasprzyk has performed as a solo artist with New World Symphony Orchestra, Spark Festival, CCRMA (Stanford University) and at Carnegie Hall. In 2003, he was the only undergraduate recipient of the Midwest Graduate Music Consortium Composition Contest. He is an Encore grant recipient from American Composers Forum: work for Intrada Winds and Co-Founder of the Illusory Correlations Concert Series.Informal training with Kaija Saariaho and Tristan Murail. M.M., Peabody Conservatory, B.M., Grand Valley State University.
Anita Thesen, flute, flute ensemble, music history, is a member of the Concert Artists of Baltimore and a former member of the Maryland Philharmonic and Lancaster Symphonies. She frequently performs with the Baltimore Opera Orchestra and the Chesapeake Orchestra, and has also performed with the Baltimore, Harrisburg and Annapolis Symphonies, the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra and the Baltimore Choral Arts Society. She won first place in the National Flute Association Orchestral Competition, and was a prize winner in the Washington Flute Society Young Artist Competition. Her teachers include Robert Willoughby, Mark Sparks and Keith Underwood. She is a former faculty member of Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Dr. Thesen joined the Morgan State faculty in 1999.
