Please note that there are specific requirements which ALL honors scholarship recipients must adhere to in order to maintain their honors scholarship.

The Gateway Scholarship gets its name from Morgan State’s motto, “A Gateway to Opportunity.” We created this scholarship to help bridge the financial gap for students that are solid, consistent “B” students. Gateway Scholarship funding works in one of two ways:
Option 1 (Off-campus): Award normally covers up to $2,500 per semester of your unmet tuition & fees and on-campus room & board costs.
Option 2 (On-campus): If you pay your tuition and fees using non-Honors funds, the Gateway Scholarship will cover your remaining unmet on-campus room & board costs up to $7,500 per year.

Minimum cumulative high school G.P.A. of 3.000 and total SAT I: Reasoning Test score of 1000 (1100 for non-MD-residents) or ACT composite score of 22 (24 for non-MD residents).

University Incentive Award
We award the Incentive Award to students as “incentive” to continue high academic achievement. Sometimes, we award this scholarship to incoming freshman with credentials that are outside of the definitions of the regular academic scholarships. If you are a matriculating student that has never received an Honors Program scholarship or a current or former Incentive Award recipient with no earned violation, we usually require you to complete a scholarship application and submit the application by the specified deadline in order to qualify for funding. We grant this award on a competitive basis for one or two semesters per academic year. You must reapply for the award every year if you wish to be considered for continued funding. Applications are available during the last two weeks of April. Award funding varies but usually covers up to $2500 per year. The qualification criteria for the award are listed below.
Requirements:
Minimum cumulative high school G.P.A. of 2.800 and total SAT I: Reasoning Test score of 950 (1050 for non-MD residents) or ACT composite score of 20 (23 for non-MD residents).
