FELA! is the story of the life and times of the Nigerian musician and activist, Fela Anikulapo Kuti who was the originator of the musical genre AFROBEAT. His music is jazzy, and soulful. The dancing is awesome and entertaining--and will make you want to jump out of your seat. His story will move you. Fela was also an activist who inspired the people of his native land, Nigeria, to rise up an resist the oppressive military regime.

This Tony Award-winning production was on Broadway for 15 months from 2009-2012 and it played to almost a half million people before embarking on the national tour—on which Baltimore is a stop.
