Morganite Shana Powell wins Miss Maryland Pageant

Morgan State University congratulates Shana Powell who was recently crowned Miss Maryland during the 72nd Annual Miss Maryland Pageant. Shana is a senior at Morgan, a member of the world renowned Morgan Choir, and is looking forward to graduating next year with a BA in Music. “The way she sings,” says Choir Director Dr. Eric Conway, “her competition will be hard-pressed to outshine her in the talent portion of the pageant.” Shana will compete early in 2008 in the Miss America Pageant representing Maryland, and of course, Morgan State. President Richardson and the Morgan family wish Shana all the best in her future pursuits.
