Fall 2011 SCMNS High School Shadow Day - DEADLINE FOR ALL APPLICATIONS IS OCTOBER 14TH, 2011
On October 19th at 8:00am, high school students will meet their SCMNS Ambassadors for breakfast and accompany them as they go through a routine day at MSU. High School students will attend classes and science labs with current MSU students, attend SCMNS presentations, meet with professors and take a tour of our campus facilities. Students will break for lunch, where they will have the opportunity to meet with the Dean and other faculty members. At the end of the day, high school students will be able to join in a panel discussion on scholarships opportunities, academic experiences and career pathways in the various mathematics and science degree programs. THIS EVENT IS HELD EVERY SEMESTER. · Registration is free for all students (invitation letter) · RSVP and submit required registration/release documentation by OCTOBER 14th, 2011. Last year’s event was a great success. Students who participated came from high schools across Maryland and D.C. The time spent with students gave us the opportunity to assist in stimulating interest in our SCMNS programs offered at MSU school students. It also gave us a chance to talk to accompanying parents and teachers about admission requirements, financial aid and college preparation. This semester we will be hosting our event for 50-75 high school participants. For further details on this event please read our invitation letter and agenda Applications for SCMNS 2011 High School Shadow Day are considered complete only when both the High School Shadow Day Registration Form and the Release of Liability Form have been received.
