Landscape Architecture Professor, Diane Jones, and four students from Morgan's Graduate Department of Landscape Architecture, John Benoit, Janet Arnold, Vincente Oliviera, and Laura Schroedertraveled to New Orleans from October 12-17 to meet with community members and continue analysis and planning on the River to Bayou CDC Project.

For the Louisiana studio course, Professor Jones and students are evaluating the feasibility of developing the Waterfront Warehouse District as a public/private initiative that promotes a very localized entrepreneurship component to housing, small business and food security.  Once the analysis is completed, students will have an opportunity to return New Orleans for their presentation.   The students' work will be continued by landscape architecture students at Louisiana State University next semester. This project is part of the Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation. For more information about the studio project, click here or contact Diane Jones at diane.jones@morgan.edu.
