Faculty Openings, 2011:
African History, Assistant/Associate Professor: Morgan State University seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor of history to teach courses in African History and the history of the African Diaspora. Area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to specialists in east, central or southern Africa, and/or those with expertise in pre-colonial Africa. Teaching experience at an urban university, potential for scholarship, and ability to advise undergraduate and graduate students are all desirable. A Ph.D. in history is required. The applicant will be expected to take a leadership role in the department's undergraduate and graduate African diaspora programs; to teach undergraduate survey courses in the history of the African diaspora and advise graduate students. Teaching experience at an urban university, potential for scholarship, and ability to advise graduate students are all desirable. A Ph.D in history is required.
