Mr. Gwynn is responsible for the overall administration of ORL&H. These responsibilities include staff recruitment, training and supervision, the maintenance of all facilities, development and implementation of operational and strategic plans, and programming initiatives.

NaKisha McLaurin, Associate Director of Operations
Ms. McLaurin is responsible for monitoring and rectifying the day-to-day situations that pose health, safety, and security risks to students who reside in our student housing facilities. Ms. McLaurin is charged with overseeing the residence hall environment, specifically in the areas of maintenance, housekeeping, safety and security.

Kent Ballard, M.Ed., Assistant Director of Academic Enrichment Program
Mr. Ballard is responsible for providing academic support, through the Academic Enrichment Program (AEP), to all students residing on campus. Maintaining the computer labs in specific residential areas and overseeing a staff of tutors. Mr. Ballard is also the Program Manager for the Morgan MILE, Parents Matter, ARISE and oversees development and implementation of programs and workshops relative to a student’s academic success.

Bethany M. Pace, M.Ed., Assistant Director of Assignments, Marketing & Conference Services
Mrs. Pace is responsible for overseeing space planning and the logistical aspects of the development of living-learning communities. The focus of her responsibilities is in the area of room assignments including billing and statistical reports regarding occupancy, the organization of summer conferences and programs and outreach and communication initiatives of the department.

The live-in residential staff consists of Resident Director, Assistant Resident Directors, Resident Assistants and Desk Attendants. They are committed to the ideals and missions of both the University and Residence Life. These individuals are your primary contacts when you have problems or concerns.
Resident Director (RD): Resident Directors are full-time professional staff members who reside in the residence halls. Each individual is responsible for his/her own are/building. The RD assumes responsibility for the management, administration, programming and student development areas within the residence hall/complex. The RD supervises additional staff persons assigned to the hall/complex.

Resident Assistant (RA): Resident Assistants are undergraduates who live on the floors with the students. Their overall responsibility is to provide leadership, lend assistance and support to eh students in the halls and enforce University and ORL policies regarding the safety and health of the students. RAs work with the students on their floor to plan and implement social, recreational and cultural activities throughout the semester.
Desk Attendant (DA): Desk Attendants are students whom ORL&H hires to work the front desk area of the residence halls throughout the week and weekends from 8:00 to midnight. They are available to assist students and visitors with their needs and to monitor the events occurring in the buildings and the individuals entering the buildings to ensure the safety of the students.
