Congratulations on your decision to explore study abroad opportunities. In doing so, you are taking the first important step in making a significant investment in yourself and in your future.
We at the Center for Global Studies and Exchange are here to help you realize that goal. We will work with you to find a program that meets your academic and professional needs and interests, help coordinate the application process as well as conduct pre-departure orientation and post-trip activities. But first, we must remind you that the application process requires time and hard work on your part. For starters, you will need to acquaint and familiarize yourself with how study abroad works at Morgan, identify/determine your goals for study abroad, talk with your parents/guardians and academic advisors about your plans and then see if you meet the criteria/requirements. Then, if you still have questions or would like to discuss your study abroad options, feel free to call us at (443) 885-4027, to schedule an appointment.
The world is full of infinite possibilities, and so we invite you to come join us in this exciting voyage of discovery.

Academic Information/Eligibility Requirements
Before studying abroad, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Class Standing: The norm at Morgan requires that students complete two years on campus before going abroad. This is based on the fact that Morgan cannot guarantee that a host institution will be willing to accept a sophomore.
GPA: While academic year or semester program GPA requirements vary, a minimum of 2.5 is re required. Students on academic probation are ineligible to study abroad.
Language Requirements: If you would like to study abroad on a semester/academic year program in a location where courses are taught in the target language, you must meet appropriate requirements. For semester programs, you should be enrolled in the foreign language the semester before departing and meet program-specific requirements. Typically, students must have at least four college semesters or the equivalent to participate in a foreign language program.
Disciplinary Status: A Morgan State University Student participating in a Study Abroad program will adhere to Morgan State University's School Code of Conduct which can be found in the University Hand Book. A prospective study abroad candidate must submit a Disciplinary Records Release Form, which must be completed by the Dean of students. Once the release form is reviewed, Morgan reserves the right to deny acceptance to any student who has problematic disciplinary history.
